When I’m older I want be able to tell the best stories. I want to sit with my grandchildren or great grandchildren and tell them Grandpa’s amazing stories. If I’m going to tell those types of stories, I’m going to need to live that type of life. Not a perfect life but a life worth living. I know that this will mean going all in with God and giving everything that I’ve got in his service. The 51st resolution of Jonathan Edwards says…
I frequently hear persons in old age say how they would live, if they were to live their lives over again:Â Resolved, That I will live just so as I can think I shall wish I had done, supposing I live to old age.
Our lives will be stories one day. The question is…what kind of story? A story of regret…a story of tragedy…a story of defeat…of victory…a boring story…an exciting story…our stories will probably have a bunch of these elements and then some. The point is however, that we get to choose. What kind of stories do you want to tell someday? What kind of life do you need to live today to give you amazing stories in 50 years? Think it over.
