campus

Not too long ago I got a text message from one of the pastors at Seacoast to go into a meeting. I didn’t know what to expect but it was at that meeting that Abbi and I were asked to pray about an opportunity. I was asked to pray about being the Campus Pastor at Seacoast’s Columbia Campus. I’ve been in Charleston for a long time and Abbi has been here for even longer. This is home…this is where our friends are….this is where Jesus changed my life….but we felt really strongly that God was calling us to go.

After some prayerful consideration, we decided to accept the offer. This past weekend I was installed as Columbia’s new Campus Pastor. Charleston has been absolutely incredible. The relationships that we’ve developed here have been more of a blessing than I could ever express. One of the things I’ve learned from this experience however, is that when God calls you to go somewhere…he has a way of letting you know that it’s him calling you.

We have so much to do to wrap things up here. We have a house that we need to rent, classes that I need to finish teaching, an album I’m trying to complete and a lot more….prayers are appreciated! But we are so excited about this new adventure! I’m excited to get to lead the Columbia team. My head and heart are filled with visions and ideas that I can’t wait to move forward on. I love that when you surrender your life to God, you never know what’s going to happen. He is an incredible author who writes incredible stories. That’s what I would encourage you with today. Don’t hold onto the reins of your life any longer. If there is anything I’ve learned since my journey with Christ began, it’s that life works so much better when I relinquish control. I hope that my heart posture will always be, “Not my will but yours be done.”

Abbi and I are so excited about this new adventure and you can expect more posts about this move as we continue the journey.
