I will be transparent with you guys and tell you that sometimes I get discouraged. I want to approach God with an open heart but I’m very stubborn. I don’t like it when I’m wrong and it takes me a long time to embrace new habits of thinking and action. I sometimes worry that I’m too set in my ways for God to really work with.

But then I’m reminded of a very simple and yet profound truth. God is all powerful. Last night I got to preach at a church in the middle of the woods in Nicaragua. There was a crazy storm going during the service. The rain and lightning were booming for hours last night and I was reminded of something I forget sometimes. God created lightning and can send torrential downpours at will. There is nothing too hard for him. No matter how jacked up and stubborn we may be, God can do what he wants with us. He can overwhelm us and  powerfully lead us in the right direction. Do you walk into a day expecting to be amazed or is what’s possible in your mind confined to what you can comprehend? Watch a storm or stare at the stars and let them teach you. God is limited by nothing and can do anything in our lives.
