I was thinking about it yesterday and what I was the most thankful for is that I’m in a relationship with someone who overcame this world. I wrote a post about it a while back that you can read here http://wp.me/pupBv-aS but I’m thankful that no matter what I face, Jesus is bigger. He is bigger than death, disease, sickness, sin and anything you can name. He overcame the world and that’s why I’m thankful. He told us in John 16:33 that it would be tough on this earth for believers. He also told us however, to be of good cheer because he overcame everything. That’s a word worth holding onto. The winds and waves of this life batter against our feeble boats all the time and it is easy to get discouraged. You can even get to a point where you want to quit but there is reason to have courage. If you’re in relationship with Christ you can enter in and out of the storms knowing there is someone with you who defeated evil. You’re confidence then will not be in yourself but in the only one who is worthy of our deepest trust and devotion.
