What qualities do you respect most in people? Who are the people that you look at that you want to be like someday? In our day and age you can get famous for almost nothing. Do something silly on Youtube and 1 billion views later…you give the world gangnam style! It’s a great dance but honestly…that’s a perfect example of being famous for nothing! What qualities do you admire in people? I respect those who have persevered. They’ve walked with God and lived with integrity for a long time and they’re still standing. I’m working through Proverbs and Proverbs 10:25 says…

When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.

I want to be storm ready. The people that I want speaking into my life are battle-tested. They have kept their integrity and walked with character for a long time. The only way to do this is to walk with an uncommon dependence on God and his promises. Some of the trials of life are too difficult for us to deal with on our own. To be righteous means to live in right-standing with God and the only way to do that is to trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. As you trust in him, he is able to give you the spiritual, emotional and physical resources for everything that life can throw at you.
