I hope that some of these thoughts on identity have been inspiring to you. I completely acknowledge that identity is a very deep subject and that it is impossible to cover in 6 short blog posts. One of the definitions for identity is, “condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is.”

Who are you? How do you see yourself? What is important for others to know about you? Do they need to know that you’re successful? That you’re educated? That you’re rich? That you’re attractive? That you’re popular?

I believe that where God wants us to be is where our confidence comes from our identity in him. Where we can say, “I’m confident because God loves me. I’m confident because I’m his son or daughter. I’m confident because he’s pleased with me. I’m confident because Jesus paid the ultimate price for me and I know that my home in him cannot be shaken.”

Can you say that? Can I say that? My hope is that all of us will take the journey towards discovering our identity in Christ. It’s possible that in reading these posts you would have to say that you don’t have a relationship with God through Christ. The good news is that the price has already been paid and you can receive that gift by faith. Jesus loves you, he died for you and he wants you to experience the fullness of his love for you.
