It really does break my heart when I see some of the unnecessary drama around me. I’m not trying to be overly idealistic but it wasn’t supposed to be this way. Sometimes we do have to step back and ask ourselves what this whole crazy world was supposed to look like. We were supposed to love each other. We were supposed to care. We were supposed to walk hand in hand. We weren’t supposed to live with tension, hostility and perhaps worst of all….indifference. I’m walking through the 70 resolutions of Jonathan Edwards and his 33rd resolution was….
Resolved, To do always what I can towards making, maintaining, and preserving peace, when it can be done without an overbalancing detriment in other respects.
Sometimes peace cannot be had because you can’t make others fight for it…but you can. By taking a strong stance against evil and darkness, you can be an incredible peacemaker. You can be a mirror that helps this world remember what it was supposed to be. We weren’t supposed to be divided. Call me idealistic but I believe some dreams are worth fighting for. I believe that the Garden of Eden was a real place but for the moment, I’m not terribly concerned with whether you believe it or not. Think about the concept.
There was once a place where things were right. We have a sense of right and wrong because there is such a thing as right and wrong. If there is such a thing as right and wrong, then there has to be a Creator who is the Originator of right and wrong. If he is a good Creator then somehow we know he didn’t create things to be wrong…he created them to be right. I believe there is something in us that remembers. That remembers we were made for so much more than this. That remembers the freedom…the love…the acceptance. What if we treated these concepts as more than fairy tales but as visions worth fighting for? What if.
